HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 575, No Resolution Number575 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NEW 1965 FOUR -DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILE FOR USE IN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky of one (1) new 1965 four -door sedan automobile for use in the Fire Department of the City, having the following specifications: 8 cylinder, having a minimum of 300 horsepower engine 15 inch wheels power steering Heater and defroster Heavy duty generator or alternator having a minimum rating of 55 amperes standard equipment to be described fully automatic transmission color to be Fire Chief red spot light furnished by the City to be installed to city specifications by the successful bidder Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase of the automobile he offers for sale, and also the amount of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in one (1) 1955 Oldsmobile automobile now in use by the Fire Department, and shall state the approrimite length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. Each bidder must include or refer to all applicable taxes necessary to be paid by the City. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat to be published not less than seven (7) days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before the date fixed for the opening of same. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and said Board shall reserve the right to reject anv and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. 576 SECTION 3.
