AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8-B OF THE "APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES"

CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
ON DECEMBER 2, 19L7, AND AMENDED ON APRIL 27, 1965 ,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 8-B of the "Appointive Employees'
Civil Service ordinance", which was adopted by the Board of
Commissioners on December 2, 191:7, and amended on April 27, 1965,
be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained so that said
section as amended and reordained shall read as follows:�
"SECTION 8=B. There is hereby authorized and created the �liy`tV]99

following positions in the Public Works Department, heretofore known
as the Street Department, and the salaries of each position, provided
the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment
ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows:
Position Salary Per Month
This department shall be under the direction and
supervision of the Director of Public Works and
Assistant Director of Public Works, non-civil
service positions which have heretofore been
created by separate ordinance.
Chief Foreman of Streets & Sewers
(formerly Assistant Superintendent of
Streets and Sewers $485.00
Foremen (3 positions) 380.00
Clerk-typist 260.00
The Clerk-tvpist shall be paid at the rate of $220.00 per
month for the first six months; at the expiration of six months
$230.00 per month; at the expiration of another six months $240.00
per month; at the expiration of another six months $250.00 per month
and at the expiration of another six months $260.00 per month, such
increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager.
Hourly Rate
Concrete Finisher (3 positions) $2.05
Sewer Maintenance Men (8 positions) 1.87
Equipment Operator (6 positions) 1.95

56 er Repairmen (7 positions) 1.75
Truck Driver (10 positions) 1,68
Laborer (8 positions) 1.60
Chief Mechanic 2.03
Auto Repairmen (4 positions) 1.95
Mechanic Helper (3 positions) 1.80
Refuse (Sanitary) Division
This Division shall he under the direction of

the above mentioned Director of Public Works
and Assistant Director of Public Works.
(No civil service employees)"
SECTION 2, This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from.and after its adoption, and shall be retroactive to May 1, 1965.
