AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING
ADJACENT TO THE WEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY,
DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE
ANNEXED, AND DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY OF SUCH ANNEXATION
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. It is hereby proposed that certain territory lying
adjacent to the west corporate limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky
more particularly described hereinafter, be annexed to said City,
and that said property so proposed to be annexed is accurately
described as follows:
Beginning at a point where the south line of the Lone
Oak Road (U. S. Highway L5) as the same was established
on April 28, 1959 by the center line of Perkins Creek,
said point being also a corner of the present city limits
of the City of Paducah, Kentucky; thence north 49° 47' 40"
east and continuing with thesaid line of said road and
the present city limit line 984.09 feet to a point former
northwest corner of property of Richard Smith; thence
leaving the present city limit line and south 350 81 east
and with Smith's west line 506 feet to a point at the
southwest corner of the Smith property; thence north
L90 581 east and with Smith's south line 416.9 feet to a
point in Smith's Tine and corner to the present city
limits of the City of Paducah; thence south 40° 12' 13"
east and with the present city limit line 236.66 feet; thence
south 271 6' east with the present city limit line 953.98'
to a point where the present city limit line is intersected
by the south line of Elmdale Road, said point being also
the northeast corner of the property of Paducah Newspapers,
Inc.,; thence south 27° 6' east with the present city limit
line and the line of said Paducah Newspapers, Inc. property
927.66 feet; thence south 56° 20" west and with the present
city limit line and the line of said Paducah Newspapers, Inc.
377.2 feet; thence south 1° 31' west and with the present
city limit line 721.42 feet; thence south 880 351 east and
with the present city limit line 879.88 feet; thence north
1° 31' east and with the present city limit line 210.01 feet;
thence north 170 51 20" east with the present city limit line
239.92 feet; thence north 290 8' 38" east and with the
present city limit line 355.13 feet; thence south 860 211 24"
east and with the present city limit line 720.25 feet to a
corner of the present corporate limits of the aforesaid City;
thence leaving the present city limit line and south 3° 11'
west 1559.9 feet; thence north 89° 2' 50" west 2344.4 feet;
thence north 11 41' 40" east 1185 feet to a point in the
center line of Perkins Creek; thence in a northwesterly
direction with the center line of said creek, and following
the meanders thereof 2250 feet, more or less, to the point
of beginning on the south line of the aforesaid Lone Oak Road
(U. S. Highway 1,5) as the same existed on April 28, 1959.
Being the same property conveyed to Paducah Newspapers,
Inc. by deed of record in Deed Book 380, page 313 in
the office of the Clerk of the County Court of McCracken
County, Kentucky, and conveyed to Henry J. Soenneker,
Bishop of the Diocese of Owensboro, by deed of record
in DeedBook 436, page 31F8 in said Clerk's office.
SECTION 2. It is hereby declared that extending the boundary
of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, by annexing the property described
in Section 1 hereof is desirable and necessary.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in the Sun -Democrat,
a newspaper in Paducah, Kentucky, as provided for and required by
Section 424.130 of KentuckyRevised Statutes and the extension of the
City Limits as herein proposed shall:�not become effective until the

adoption of an ordinance annexing the property described in Section 1
hereof, and such ordinance shall not be adopted until after publication
of this ordinance as provided herein and until the expiration of a
period of thirty (3.0) days after the passage of this ordinance.
Notice is hereby given under the provisions of Section $1.110
of Kentucky Revised Statutes that one or more residents or freeholders
of the herein territory proposed to be annexed may, within thirty (30)
days after the enactment of this ordinance, file a petition in the
Circuit Court of McCracken County, Kentucky, setting forth the reasons
why said territory, or any part of it, shall not be annexed.
SECTION L. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
