A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR
BIDS FOR FURNISHING Tj-iE CITY OF PADUCAH :'7ITH ITS REQUIREMENT OF. NEVA
AUTOMOBILE AND TRUCK TIRES FOR THE PERIOD OF TIME FROM JUNE 1, 1965
TO DECEMBER 31, 1965
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: . .
SECTION 1. That the City Clerk be, and she is hereby authorized
and directed to advertise for bids for furnishing the City of Paducah,
Kentucky with its requirement of new automobile and truck tires for the
period of time from June 1, 196r to December 31, 1965, under the
following terms and conditions:
Each bidder shall state his discount price based on net State
prices to the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and each bidder shall include
all applical.le taxes, including but not limited to Kentucky Sales Tax.
The acceptance of any hid shall not preclude the City from
purchasing used tires or Civil Defense surplus tires from any source
other than the successful bidder.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall ad,.ertise for sealed bids by
posting a notice at. the Citv Hall door and by inserting notice of the
request for Yids in the Sun -Democrat to he published not less than seven
da,s nor more than twenty-one days before the date fixed for opening of
same. All bids shall he sealed and no bid shall be received after the
hour fixed in the notice for the openin7 of same. All bids received
by the City Clerk up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of
same shall be .filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a
contract to the lowest and test bidder, and the Roard of Commissioners
shall reserve the ri.tht to reiect any and all bids and the City shall
not become lerall-: obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an
ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall he in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
