AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, TO TERMINATE CERTAIN TENANCIES IN AND ON THE
MARKET HOUSE PROPERTY OF SAID CITY, AND TO EVICT ANY PARTIES WHO ARE
OR MAY BE UNLAWFULLY IAT POSSESSION OF ANY PORTION OF SUCH PROPERTY,
AND TO CAUSE TO BE INSTITUTED ANY LEGAL ACTIONS THAT MAY BE NECESSARY
IN THOSE RESPECTS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COI'lMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Market House property, which is owned
by the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and which is located in said City
on Second Street, between Broadway and Kentucky Avenue, shall no
longer be made available or used for the sale of groceries, food
stuffs, meats, vegetables, flowers, plants, horticultural articles
and supplies, and similar products and merchandise.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor of the said City shall be, and he
is hereby, authorized and directed to notify all tenants in and on
said property who have heretofore, or who are now, engaged in the
business of selling such products and merchandise that their respective
tenancies shall be, and are, terminated at the earliest date possible,
which tenants are inclusive of, but not limited to, the following:
Melvin Graves
F. B. Nicholson
Alpha Thompson
R. L. McNeill
Dora May Schmidt
James E. Moody
SECTION 3. That the said Mavor shall be, and he is hereby,
authorized and directed to take all other administrative steps, and
to cause the Corporation Counsel of said City to take all legal steps
and to institute all legal actions, that may he appropriate, necessary
or desirable to bring about and to effect an early termination of such
tenancies.
SECTION 4. That the said Mayor shall be, and he is hereby,
authorized and directed to take all steps necessarv, appropriate
or desirable to evict any person or party who is, Or who may be in
the future, unlawfully in possession of, or using any portion of,
said Market House property, includin, the institution of legal
actions :for that purpose by and through the said Corporation Counsel.

SECTION 5. If any section, paragraph or provision of this
ordinance shall be .found to he inoperative, ineffective or invalid
for any cause, the deficiency or invalidity of such section,
paragraph or provision shall not affect any other section, paragraph
or provision hereof, it heinr the purpose and intent of this ordinance
to make each and every section, paragraph and provision hereof
separable from all other sections, paragraphs and provisions.
SECTION t This ordinance shall he in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
