HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 459, No Ordinance NumberAN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF DON McCLURE, DOING BUSINESS AS PADUCAH TYPEWRITER AND SUPPLY, IN THE AMOUNT OF -$1,595.00 FOR THE FURNISHING AND INSTALLATION OF PEW SEATING FOR THE POLICE COURT ROOM IN THE NEW CITY HALL BUILDING IN PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE, ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY, A CONTRACT FOR SUCH FURNISHING AND INSTALLATION, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SUCH CONTRACT 111HEREAS,the City of Paducah, Kentucky advertised for bids for the furnishing and installation of pew seating for the Police Court Room in the new City Hall in said City, and WHEREAS, bids were submitted by various bidders for such furnishing and installation in accordance with the Plans, Specifications and Conditions .for same prepared by Edward Durell Stone, Architect, 7 East 67 Street, New York City (Lee Potter Smith & Associates, Associate Architect, Paducah, Kentucky), and WHEREAS, the lowest responsible bid for such furnishing_ and installation, according to specifications as approved by the aforesaid Architect Stone, was in the amount of $1,595.00 and was submitted by Don McClure, doing business as Paducah Typewriter & Supply, Paducah, Kentucky. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, subject to the conditions hereinafter set out, accept the bid of Don McClure, doing business as Paducah Typewriter & Supply of Paducah, Kentucky, in the amount of $1,595.00 for the furnishing and installation of pew seating for the Police Court Room in the new City Hall building in said City, subject to all the terms, conditions and specifications contained in the documents upon which said bidder based his bid, such documents being known as "Invitation for Bids, General Conditions, Specifications and Bid Form Proposal". Such installation to consist of five pews twenty-two feet long and four pews eleven feet long, made of red oak and finished in dark walnut to be approved by Architect; 1-3/$ inch seat; face glued stock; form fitted scoop seat; five quarter back stock; 2-1/4 inch 3 -ply ends; seat height 17 inches; depth of seat 16 inches; seat back 17 inches; and overall height 33 inches. SECTION 2. Acceptance of the bid of Don McClure, doing business as Paducah Typewriter & Supply, as set out in Section 1 hereof shall be cOnditioned upon the proper execution, by said bidder, of all required contract documents. 460 SECTION 3. Upon the approval of the Corporation Counsel of said City of the execution of the contract, performance and payment bond and the providing of satisfactory workmen's compensation insurance and liability insurance, the City Manager of said City is hereby authorized to execute said contract for and on behalf of said City. SECTION L. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall he put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days thereafter.
