IN THE AMOUNT OF $18,223.73 FOR THE FURNISHING AND INSTALLATION OF CERTAIN FURNITURE FOR THE NEW CITY HALL BUILDING IN PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, SAID FURNITURE BEING KNOWN AS "CATEGORY I METAL OFFICE FURNITURE", AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE, ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY, A CONTRACT FOR SUCH FURNISHING AND INSTALLATION, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SUCH CONTRACT WHEREAS, the City of Paducah, Kentucky, advertised for bids for the.furnishing and installation of furniture for the new City Hall building in said City, and WHEREAS, bids were submitted by various bidders for such furnishing and installation of furniture in accordance with "The Plans, specifications and conditions for same prepared by Edward Durell Stone, Architect, 7 East 67 Street, New York City (Lee Potter Smith & Associated, Associate Architects, Paducah, Kentucky), said plans consisting of three (3) reproduction prints titled 'Furniture Plan Ground Floor', 'Furniture Plan First Floor' and 'Furniture Plan Second Floor'; and said specifications and conditions consisting of a bound volume titled 'Furniture for Paducah City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky,;: Bidding Specifications, August 28, 1964 (Revised to September 4, 1964) consisting of °General Conditions', 'Specifications of Manufacturers, Category I Metal Office Furniture, Category II Wood Office Furniture, Category III All Other Furniture'; 'Specification of Furniture', and also the 'Invitation for Bids' and 'Bid Form Proposal"', and WHEREAS, the lowest responsible bidder for said furnishing and installation of aforesaid "Category I Metal Office Furniture" according to specifications was in the amount of $18,223.73 and was submitted by Holscher-Wernig, Inc. of St. Louis, Missouri. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, subject to the conditions hereinafter set out, accept the bid of Holscher-Wernig, Inc., St. Louis, Missouri, in the amount of $18,223.73 for furnishing and installation of certain furniture in the new City Hall building in said City known as "Category I Metal Office Furniture", subject to all the terms, conditions and specifications contained in the document upon which said bidder based his bid, such document being known as "Plans, Specifications and Conditions prepared by Edward Durell Stone, Architect, 7 East 67 Street, New York City (Lee Potter Smith & Associates, Associate Architect, Paducah, Kentucky), said plans consisting of three (3) reproduction prints titled 'Furniture Plan Ground Floot', 'Furniture Plan First Floor' and 'Furniture Plan Second Floot', and said L32 specifications and conditions consisting of a bound volume titled 'Furniture for Paducah City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, Bidding Specifications, August 2$, 1964 (Revised to September 4, 1964) consisting of 'General Conditions', 'Specification of Manufacturers Category I Metal Office Furniture, Category II Wood Office Furniture, Category III All Other Furniture'; 'Specifications of Furniture', and also the 'Invitation for Bids' and 'Bid Form Proposal"'. SECTION 2. Acceptance of the bid of Holscher-Wernig, Inc., St. Louis, Missouri, as set out in Section 1 hereof shall be conditioned upon the proper execution by said bidder of all required contract documents. SECTION 3. Upon the approval of the Corporation Counsel of said City of the execution of the contract, performance and payment bond and the providing of satisfactory workmen's compensation insurance and liability insurance, the City Manager of said City is hereby authorized to execute said contract for and on behalf of said City. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file for at least one (1).week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days thereafter.
