HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 338, No Ordinance Number7- f AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 7, 7-A, 8-A, 8-B, 8-C, 8-D AND 9 OF THE "APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEKBER 2, 1947, AND AMENDED ON JANUARY 22, 1963, JUNE 11, 1963 AND DECEMBER 3, 1963 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COP+MISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1.. That Sections 7, 7-A, 8-A, 8-B, 8-C, R -D and 9 of the "Appointive Employees' Civil Service Ordinance", which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on December 2, 1947, and amended on January 22, 1963, June 11, 1963 and December 3, 1963, be, and they are hereby amended and reordained so that said sections as amended and reordained shall read as follows: "SECTION 7_ There is hereby created and authorized the followin/* positions in the Department of Finance, and the salary of each position, �I provided the amount of such salary is not chanted under any apportion- ment ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows: Position Finance Director, Head of Department (To be known also as City Treasurer) Assistant Treasurer Auditor Bookkeeper Senior Clerk (2 positions) (formerly Deputy Treasurer) Clerk -Stenographer Machine Operator Clerk -typist No. 1 (1 position) Clerk -typist No. 2 (1 position) Salary Per Month $600.00 350.00 315.00 300.00 275.00 265.00 275.00 240.00 240.00 License Inspector 375.00 The Clerk -typist No. 2 shall he paid at the rate of $210.00 per month for the first six months; and at the expiration of six months $220.00 per month; and at the expiration of another six months $230.00 per month; and at the expiration of another six months $240.00 per month; such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Iylanager". ''SECTION 7-A_ There is hereby created and authorized the followinx positions in the Office of the City Assessor, which office was formerly in the Department of Finance, and the salary of each Position, provided the amount of such salary is not chanced under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall he as follows: a _ Position Salary rer M, nth Chief Assessor, Head of Department t'525.00 t/ v 339 Assessor *450.00 Clerk -typist 275.00 Evaluation Clerk 275.00 The Clerk -typist shall be paid at the rate of "235.00 per month for the. first six months; and at the expiration of sir. months "245.00 per month; at the expiration of another six months $255.00 per month; at the expiration of another six months $265.00 per month, and at the expiration of another six months *275.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Danarer. The Floodwall Maintenance Poen shall be paid at the rate of $305.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $315.00 per month; and at the expiration of another six. months $335.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager. ✓ 'Sub -Section 2. There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the Sewage Disposal Department, and the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows: Position I.Ionthly Salary Chief Operator $400.00 Maintenance Nen 3£35.00 Operators (3 positions) 335.00 The Chief Operator and the Maintenance Man shall be paid at the rate of $365.00 per month for the first six, months of employment, and at the expiration of such period, upon recommendation of the City T'anaFer, the salary of the Chief Operator shall be raised to $400.00 per month, and the salary of the K!aintenance h•Ian shall be raised to $385.00 per month. The Operators shall be paid at the rate of $305.00 per month for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months $315.00 per month; and at the expiration of another six months $335.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City I;ana7er. The Sewage Disposal Department shall be under the mana,-emert and control of the Floodwall Superintendent, and the employees of the Floodwall Department, at his direction, may be assigned to work in the Seware Disposal Department, and the employees of the Sevrame Disposal Department, at his direction, may be assiened to work in the Floodwall Department, but an�,r of such employees so assigned shall Iceep and maintain their civil service rights under the depart- ment to vrnich they were originally assilrned. SECTION? 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption, and shall be retroactive to July 1, 1964.
