AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1,OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED:
"AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE NUMBER, RANKS AND MONTHLY SALARIES OF
THE POLICE DEPAR'31ENT AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERE-
WITH", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMLISSIONERS ON AUGUST
5, 1952, AND AMENDED ON APRIL 2, 1963
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 1 of an ordinance,containing the
title auoted above, which was adopted on August 5, 1952, and amended
on April 2, 1963, be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained
so that said Section as amended and reordained shall read as follows:
"SECTION 1_ The number and rank of members of the Police
Department of the City of Paducah and their monthly salaries, pro-
c� vided said salaries are not changed by any annual apportionment
ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows:
Position Number of Positions Monthly Salary
Chief of Police 1 $525.00
First Assistant Chief of Police 1 445.00
Second Assistant Chief of Police 1 445.00
Chief Detective 1 445.00
Police Captain 4 400.00
Detective Captain. 1 400.00
Detective Lieutenant 1 365.00
Police Lieutenant L. 365.00
Sergeant 7 350.00
Sergeant Detective 2 350.00
Policemen LO 335.00
Provided, however, that any policeman hereafter appointed,
during his first year of service shall receive a salary of $305.00
per month and upon completion of a year of satisfactory service as
determined by the City M'anaFTer on recommendation of the Police Chief,
his monthly salary shall he increased to $320.00 for the second year
of service, and upon completion of a second year of satisfactory
service as determined by the City Manager on recommendation of the
Police Chief, his monthly salary shall be increased to the sum of
035.00."

SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTIOPI 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption and shall be retroactive to July 1, 196L.
