A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR ONE (1) REFUSE PACKER AND TRUCK FOR USE IN THE REFUSE DIVISION
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND
CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Tianager be, and he is hereby, requested
to advertise for bids for the purchase of one (1) lu cubic yard refuse
packer type body mounted on heaver duty cab and chassis, having the
following specifications:
Truck Manufacturers G.V.17. Rating Minimum of 25,000 lbs.
Cab to axle dimension approximately 102 inches with
tilt type cab and reinforced frame.
Five (5) speed transmission.
1$,000 lbs. single speed rear axle.
9,000 lbs front axle
Minl.mum Gross H.P. Rating of 182 H.P.
Equipped with mechanical tachometer R.P.M. Governor.
Heavy duty cooling system
Heavy duty generator. LO Amp. 60 "Jatt.
Increased capacity springs.
Increased capacity brakes.
Front end torr hooks
Dual electric windshield wipers
Directional signals
West coast type mirrors, one on each side
Heater and defroster
10.00 x 20 - 12 ply 100 level first line tires and tubes, front
and rear, with spare mounted, coast spoke type wheels.
Colors and lettering to be specified.
Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for
the purchase of the equipment he offers for sale,and also the amount
of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as a trade-in one (1)
1953 GMC 454 truck with 13 yard Garwood Packer mounted.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids
by posting a notice at the Cit-• Hall door and by inserting notice of
the request for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published not less than
sever. (7) days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before the date fixed
for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall
be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same.

who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of
Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids
and the City shall not become legally obligated to am; bidder until-

ntilthe adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase
contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full .force and effect
from and after its adoption.
