AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF EMULSIFIED ASPHALT COMPANY
FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF TYPES RS, MS, SS AND AE -200 EMULSIFIED
ASPHALT REQUIRED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH DURING THE YEAR 1964, AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT
FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAID PATERIAL, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERT+IS AND
CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the bid of Emulsified Asphalt Company for
sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, of types RS, MS. SS and AE -200
emulsified asphalt required by the City during the year 1964, be accepted,
and the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into and execute a
contract for the purchase, upon the order of the City, of all such
asphalt to be used during the year 1963, said contract to contain the
following terms, conditions and covenants:
Orders are to be placed by collect telephone call to the Seller
and delivery to be made by transport truck within twenty-four hours
after order. All asphalt must meet Kentucky State Highway specifications.
The Seller shall furnish and install a 10,000 or 12,000 gallon storage
tank at 6th & Campbell Street, Paducah, Kentucky, where delivery is
to be made at 8.''0.111,8 percallon. Said contract shall also contain all
terms, conditions and covenants contained in the resolution authorizing
the advertisement for bids, which was adopted by the Board of Com-
missioners of said City on May 12, 1964. A guarantee shall be provided
for reduction in price in the event of a decrease in the market price,
and the Seller shall post a performance bond in the amount of $2,500.00
guaranteeing specifications and delivery. The terms of payment shall
be a 2% discount within ten (10) days and the net price as above quoted
within thirty (30) days.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular
meeting"of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for at least
one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it
shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full
force and effect ten (10) days thereafter.
