A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE PURCHASE OF FOUR (4) NEW 1963 FOUR DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILES
FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS
UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested
to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky
of four (4) new 1963 four -door automobiles having the following
specifications:
15" wheels
Police Package to be described in detail
Seat Belts
Minimum of 300 HP engine
Color black with white top and white front doors
Power Steering
Automatic transmission
Heater
Standard equipment to be described fully
Spot light furnished by the City to be installed by successful
bidder.
Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the
purchase of the automobiles he offers for sale, and also the amount
of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in four (4)
police cars as follows:
Car No. 1 - 1961 Ford Sedan
Car No. 3 - 1961 Chevrolet Sedan
Car No. 7 - 1961 wrecked Chevrolet Sedan
Car No. 8 - 1960 Plymouth Sedan
Less any sirens, radios, extra batteries and extra generators.
Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model
upon which he bids, and, if requested, will exhibit at the City Hall
to the city officials a similar car of the model bid upon with the
equipment offered, andmust state the length of time required for
delivery after a contract is awarded.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids
by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of
the request for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published not less
than seven (7) days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before the
date. -.fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and
no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the
opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the
2$,
time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with
the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and
best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right
to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally
obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing
the execution of the purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
