"AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE NUMBER, RANKS AND MONTHLY SALARIES OF
THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH",
WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 11, 1951,
AND AMENDED ON APRIL 30, 1963.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section, 1 of an ordinance containing the title
quoted above, which was adopted on December 11, 1951, and amended on
April 30, 1963, be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained so
that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows:
"SECTION 1. The number and rank of the members of the Fire
Department of the City of Paducah and their monthly salaries, provided
said salaries are not changed by any annual apportionment ordinance
hereafter adopted shall be as follows:
Position Number of Positions Monthly Salary
Fire Chief 1 $>500.00
Assistant Chief 3 1:20.00
Fire Prevention Inspector 2 According to Rank
Fire Captains 1$ 380.00
Engineers 110 335.00
Fire Alarm Operator
(Same Rank as Firemen) 1 350.00
Firemen !;1 320.00
Provided, however, that any fireman hereafter appointed, during
his first year of service shall receive a salary of $295.00 per month
and upon completion of a year of satisfactory service as determined by
the City i,�`anager on recommendation of the Fire Chief, his monthly,
salary shall be increased to $305.00 for the second year of service, and
upon completion of the second rear of satisfactory service as determined
by the City Manager on recommendation of the Fire Chief, his monthly
salary shall be increased to the sum of $:320.00."
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effecr from
and after its adoption and shall be retroactive to January 1, 1964.
