"AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITIONS OF DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS
AND ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS, PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES
OF SAID POSITIONS AND THE SALARIES THEREOF", ^fHICH WAS ADOPTED BY
THE BOARD OF C -11ISSIONERS ON JUNE 8, 1959 AND AB'ENDED ON NOVEMBER 5, 1962
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COT3ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTIOP! 1. That Section 1 of an ordinance containing the title
quoted above, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on
June 8, 1959, and amended on November 5, 1962, be, and the same is
hereby amended and reordained so that said section as amended and
reordained shall read as follows:
"SECTION 1. There is hereh.7 created the positions in the
TgCnL/ City of Paducah, Kentucky, to be known as the Director of Public
:Yorks and Assistant Director of Public :forks.
The position of Director of Public :forks shall be under
the direction and supervision of the City D":anager. The person
occupying said position of Director of Puhlic .'forks shall be
charged with the supervision of all work connected with the main-
tenance of streets, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, refuse collection
and disposal and such other related work as may be required by the
Cit:., 11,4arager. The salary of the Director of Public '.'forks shall
he ;:500.00 per month and shall he paid at the same time and in the
same manner as the salaries of other employees of the City are paid.
The position of Assistant Director of lublic ::'orks shall be under
the direction and supervision of the Director of Iublic `.'forks and the
City RSanager, and such person shall have the duties as herein set out
for the Director of Public Works. The salary of the Assistant Director
of Public Works shall he ~L65.00 per month and shall be paid at the same
time and in the same manner as the salaries of.other emplovees of the
City are paid.
Said positions of Director of Public forks and Assistant
Director of Iublic :'forks shall not be civil service positions or
covered by any provisions of the civil service ordinance of the
City of Paducah or by the provisions of the civil service statutes
of the State of Kentuck=r, and the persons filling such positions
shall not acquire any rirrhts under the rules of civil service
governing employees in cities of the second class."
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.

S)CTIOPI 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after February 1, 1963.
