BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, IN RETAINING AN
ARCHITECT TO PREPARE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF
A SCHOOL BUILDING AS AN ADDITION TO THE EXISTING FRANKLIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
IN SAID CITY; IN ADVERTISING IN THE NAME AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PADUCA ,
KENTUCKY, FOR BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SAID SCHOOL BUILDING AND IN
RETAINING A FISCAL AGENT IN CONNECTION WITH THE ISSUANCE OF SCHOOL BUILDING
REVENUE BONDS OF SAID CITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINANCING THE COST OF SAID
SCHOOL BUILDING; AND APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR SAID SCHOOL
BUILDING
WHEREAS, Lee Potter Smith and Associates have heretofore been
retained as Architects by the Board of Education of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, to prepare plans and specifications for a school building as an
addition to the existing Franklin Elementary School in said City and which
plans and specifications have been prepared by said Architects and approved
by said Board of Education and by the Superintendent of Public Institution
of the Commonwealth of Kentucky: and
WHEREAS, said plans and specifications have been filed in the
office of the City Clerk: and
WHEREAS, said Board of Education in the name and on behalf of the
City of Paducah, Kentucky, has heretofore caused to be advertised in the
Sun -Democrat on October 2, 1963, a notice for bids for the construction of
said school building, which bids are to be received until 2:00 o'clock P.M.
(C.S.T.) on October 17, 1963; and
•lHEREAS, said Board of Education has heretofore entered into a
Fiscal Agency Contract with the firm of Stein Bros. & Boyce of Louisville,
Kentucky, in connection with financing the cost of said school building throu_Y
the issuance of school building revenue bonds of the City of Paducah, Kentuck ;
and
WHEREAS, said Board of Education has, pursuant to the provisions
of KRS Sections 162.120 to 162.300, inclusive, or will convey the school
building site to the City of Paducah, Kentucku, and has offered to lease said
school building when constructed under a lease of the kind provided in KRS
162.140; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable and necessary at this time that
this Board of Commissioners formally approve, ratify and confirm the action
heretofore taken by said Board of Education and also formally approve the
plans and specifications for the construction of said school building;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COAR�iISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KZNTUCKY, AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. That Lee Potter Smith and Associates are hereby selected
and officially desipnated as the Architects to prepare plans and specificatio
for the construction of the school building referred to in the preamble hereo
and the action heretofore taken by the Board of Education of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, in retaining said Architects is hereby in all respects
approved, ratified and confirmed.
SECTION 2. That the plans and specifications so prepared by said
Architects and now on file in the office of the City Clerh are hereby approve ,
SECTION 3. That the action heretofore taken by said Board of Educa-
tion in advertising for bids for the construction of said school building ij the name and on behalf of the City of Paducah, Kbntucky, as referred to in
preamble hereof, is hereby in all respects approved, ratified and confirmed.
SECTION 4. That.the action heretofore taken by said Board of Educa-
tion in entering into a Fiscal Apency Contract with -the firm of Stein Bros. &
Boyce of Louisville, Kentucky, in connection with financing the cost of said
school building throueh the issuance of school building revenue bonds of said
City and the form of said contract are hereby in all respects approved,
ratified and confirmed.
SECTION 5. That this resolution shall become effective immediately
following its adoption and approval as provided by law.
