A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR ACCOUNTING OR BOOKKEEPING MACHINE FOR USE IN THE FINANCE OFFICE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
to advertise for bids for lease and/or lease purchase of accounting
or bookkeeping machine for use in the Finance Office of the City of
Paducah, having the following minimum specifications:
Electrically operated with 115 -volts, 50 cycle only or 60
cycle only as specified, alternating current or 115 volts
direct current as specified, single phase, with nominal range
of 105-125 volts;
PLUS:
Automatic and manual control of computing functions;
22" carriage;
Carriage to permit either cut ;ournal sheets or continuous
roll Journals and front insertion of individually posted forms;
Automatic and manual control of carriage movement and form spacing;
Adjustable and removable front and rear form guides;
Front form heading holder;
Short-cut computing keyboard with date section and descriptive
characters;
Ciphers to print automatically;
12 digit amount capacity;
Electric tvpewriter section activates $4 -character printing unit
.for typing names and complete descriptions;
Removable control unit with selector for instant change of
operational setup;
40 words of memory to be selected from the keyboard or through
computer programing;
Electronic Processor to be solid state with magnetic core storage;
The above system .is to be programed for all applications
presently being processed in the City Treasurer's Office.
Each bidder shall state terms of lease and/or lease purchase
agreement on a monthly basis and must take in trade one model 38 NCR
accounting machine S/N:5693523 and one NCR remittance machine SIN: 6027179
Each bidder shall state price of trade-in for these tow machines
and shall also state how trade will be credited against monthly lease
price. Price shall include delivery and set-up and approximate time
required for delivery from date of contract award.

SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by
posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the
request for bids in the Sun -Democrat not less than seven days nor more
than twenty-one days before the openinr, of same. All bids shall be
sealed and no hid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice
for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to
the time fixed for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of
Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder and
the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and
all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase
same until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a
purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
