HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 1101, No Resolution NumberA RESOLUTION AUTHORIZINr- THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR FU^nNISHING THE CITY OF PADUCAH WITH ITS REQUIREMENTS OF REC:ULAR AND ETHYL rASOLINE, MOTOR OIL, DIESEL FUEL, CHASSIS LUBRICANT, GEAR LUBE OIL, HYDRAULIC OIL, FEROSEDiE AND ANTI -FREEZE TO BE USED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH FROM JANUARY 1, 1967 TO JUNE 30, 196? RE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is herebv, authorized to ad-ertise for bids for furnishing the City of Paducah with its re- ouirements of regular and ethyl gasoline, motor oil, diesel fuel, chassis lubricant, pear lube oil, hydraulic oil, kerosene and anti -freeze for the period beginning January 1, 1967, or as soon thereafter as possible, and extendinr to and including June 30, 1967, at the lowest cash price per unit, unit price to include State Tax, but exclusive of Federal Tax, in accordance with all terms and specifications listed herein. Each bidder must guarantee and state the octane rating contained in the re-ular and ethyl gasoline he proposes to supply, the octane ratinr of ethyl gasoline to be not less than 99, the price to be listed as the prevailinT tank warron prices, plus or minus; motor oil to be detergent heavy duty, premium (not to be a fleet oil) and first grade, and first grade non -detergent (requirements approximately 350 gallons of each per six month period); Diesel, high detergent motor oil (re- ouirevents approximately 250 gallons per six month period); diesel fuel to be No. 2 (requirements approximately 3,300 gallons per six month period); chassis lulricant to he all-purpose (requirements approximately 1S0 pounds per six month period); pear lube oil to be 140 and 90 weight (requirements approximately 700 pounds per six month period); kerosene (requirements approximately 3,300 gallons per six month period); anti- freeze to he permanent type (recuirements approximately 150 nallons per six month period). The requirements for regular gasoline will be approximately 32,000 rallons per six month period and for ethyl gasoline approximately 30,000 ^allons per six month period. The successful bidder will he required to .furnish and install four (L) electrically operated and metered gasoline pumps, necessary tanks and reauired concrete islands and will to required to furnish one (1) electriral.l,r operated and metered diesel pump and under -round tank. Rids shall provide a uarantee against ad,rance in the bid price and also shall uarantee a corresponding reduction in price in the e,�ent of a decrease in the market price of any of the items hid on. 1102 The bidder will so state in his hid that 're a,rees to rive 24-hour emergency tank truck service to any point in the City of Faducah seven days per week. In the event of a temporary tank wagon price less than normal, the City will he chased the normal tank wagon price less the discount or the temporary tank wagon price without the discount whichever results in a lower net price per gallon of gasoline. Each ?:idler shall hid upon each individual item, and all incomplete kids will be refected. The lowest overall bid will he accepted unless all bids are refected. SECTION 2. The City Manarer shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of reauest for bids in the Sun Democrat, as provided for by law. All bids shall be sealed and no i,id shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All lids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the openi.n�- of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who'may let a contract to the lowest and rest overall kidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to refect any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said products until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3.
