HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 15, Page 1059, No Resolution Number1059 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE NEW 1967 PANEL TRUCK FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, of one (1) new 1967 panel truck for use in the Police Department, having the followine specifications: Minimum 110" wheel base 15" wheels Power steering Police Package to be described in detail, and to include heavy duty generator, or alternator; 55 ampere minimum Seat belts (2), with rollers, for front seat Minimum 192 H.P. engine Color solid white Automatic transmission Heater and defroster Standard equipment to be described fully Spotli�-ht furnished by the City to be installed by successful bidder Dual sun visors Back up lights Spare tire and wheel Dual front seats Rear bumper Truck style side mirrors Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase of the vehicle specified above, and also the amount of subh purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in one (1( 1965 Chevrolet panel truck Model ClL:05, known as Car No. 7, less any sirens, 00 radio, extra batteries, extra generators and police lights. Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model upon which he bids, and if requested, will exhibit at the City Hall to the City Officials a similar vehicle of the model bid upon with the equipment offered, and must state the length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. 1060 SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published not less than seven (7) days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before the date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up.to the time fixed in the.notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a.contract to the.lowest and best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve.the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of the purchase.contract. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
