AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING
ADJACENT TO THE NORTHWEST CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY, DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED
TO BE ANNEXED, AND DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY OF SUCH
ANNEXATION
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COY24ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. It is hereby proposed that certain territory lying
adjacent to the northwest corporate limits of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, and -more particularly described hereinafter, be anneced to
said City, and that said property so proposed to be annexed is
accurately described as follows:
BeFinning.at a point north of North 8th Street where the
present city limits line intersects the north_ right of way
line of the Floodwall; thence in a southerly direction and
with the present city limits line, crossing North 8th Street and
North 10th Street to the south property line of the Cairo Road;
thence in a westerly direction with the present city limits
line and the south property line of the Cairo Road'to a point
50 feet west of the west property line of Atkins Avenue; thence
continuing with the present city limits line in a southerly.
direction 50 feet from and parallel with Atkins Avenue to a point
in the north property line of a 15 foot alley, said point being
172.5 feet north of 13th Street; thence continuing; with the present
city limits line in a westerly direction parallel with 13th
Street to a point 1L.9 feet west of the west property line of Reed
Avenue if extended; thence in a southerly direction, with'the
present city limits and parallel with Reed Avenue to the north
line of Noble Park; thence in a westerly direction and with
the present city limits and the north line of Noble Park a
distance of 1352.4 feet to the northwest corner of the original
Noble Park; thence in a southerly direction, continuin.a_ with
the present city limits and with the west line of -the original
Noble Park a distance of 1514.6 feet; thence in a northwesterly
direction, continuing with the present city limits a distance
of 759 feet to the westerly right-of-way line of the Paducah
Floodwall; thence in a northeasterly direction and following
the westerly or river side right-of-way line of the Paducah
Floodwall to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. It is hereby declared that extending the boundary
of the City of Paducah, Kentucky by annexing the property described in
Section 1 hereof is desirable and necessary.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in the Sun Democrat,
a newspaper in Paducah, Kentucky, as provided for and required by
Section 424.130 of Kentucky Revised Statutes, and the extension of
the city limits as herein proposed shall not become effective until
the adoption of an ordinance annexing the property described in
Section 1 hereof, and such ordinance shall not be adopted until
alter publication of this ordinance as provided herein and until
the expiration of a period of thirty (30) days after such publication.
Notice is hereby given under the provisions of Section. 81.110
of Kentucky Revised Statutes that one or more residents or freeholders
of the herein territory proposed to he annexed may, within thirty (30)

days after the adoption of this ordinance and publication as afore-
said, file a petition or complaint in the Circuit• Court of McCracken
County, Kentucky, setting forth the reasons why said territory, or
any part of it, shall not be annexed.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
