A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR HYDRAULIC SYSTEM AND LADDERS FOR AERIAL LADDER TRUCK, AND PRESCRIBING
THE CONDITIONS UPON gHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE 14ADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
and requested to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah,
Kentucky of a Hydraulic System and Ladders for a 1940 model Peter Pirsch
Aerial Ladder Truck, having the following specifications:
Part 1.
All new complete hydraulic system for efficient operation of
present seventy-five (75) foot aluminum aerial ladder, to be
placed on 1940 model Peter Pirsch aerial ladder truck, new waist
high control panel with all gauges and controls mounted on present
turntable if feasible, and well lighted for night work.
Part ii.
The below listed neer aluminum ladders to properly fit on present 1940
model Peter Pirsch aerial ladder truck, for easy removing and re-
placing ladders on truck
1-50 ft. 2 piece trussed extension ladder with poles
1-35 ft. 2 piece trussed extension ladder with poles
1-25 ft. trussed wall ladder
1-15 £t. 2 piece S.S. extension
2-20 ft. trussed wall ladders
1-14 ft. S.S. roof ladder
1-12 ft. S.S. roof ladder
1-14 ft. folding ladder
Part 111.
One (1) seventy-five (75) ft new All Steel Hydraulicly operated
aerial ladder, complete with new hydraulic system, new turn table
and new waist high control panel with all gauges and controls mounted
on same and well lighted for night work. Ladder to also have two (2)
12 volt floodlights at base for night operation. Ladder turntable
to rotate full 360 degrees without having to stop same.
The above is to be placed on 1940 model Peter Pirsch aerial ladder
truck for efficient operation of same.
Bids shall be on cost of combined Parts 1 and 11, and a separate
bid on Parts 1, 11 and 111.
Bidder shall state name and location of plant where work will be
done, length of time for completion of work after receiving
authorization from the City of Paducah and all other pertinent
information on works Shall also state guarantee on all material
and workmanship on Parts 1, 11 and 111.

SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by
posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the
request for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published not less than seven
(7) days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before the date fixed for
the opening of same. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be
received after the hour fired in the notice for the opening of same.
All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice
for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners
who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder, and the Board of
Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids, and
the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the
adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
