HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 84, No Ordinance NumberAN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF THE SOUTHLAND COMPANY FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF MC -2, MC -3, RC -2 AND RC -3 LIQUID ASPHALT REQUIRED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH DURING 1959; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAID MATERIAL; AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SAID PURCHASES SHALL BE MADE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the bid of the Southland Company for the sale to the City of Paducah of all MC -2, MC -3, RC -2 and RC -3 Liquid Asphalt required by the City of Paducah during the year 1959 be accepted, and the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into and execute a contract for the purchase, upon the order of said City, of all such asphalt to be used during 1959, said contract to contain thh following terms, conditions and covenants: Orders are to be placed by the City by collect telephone call and delivery to be made within three to four days after order; the delivered price for the asphalt shall be in the sum of $0.1174 per i gallon f.o.b. 6th & Campbell Streets, Paducah, Kentucky and to be delivered in 6000 or 10,000 gallon insulated tank cars equipped q pped with � fittings and steam coils for heating, and all asphalt must meet Kentucky ` State Highway specifications. The Southland Company is to be required to furnish and install a 10,000 or 12,000 gallon (or larger) storage tank equipped with fittings and steam coils for heating MC or RC liquid asphalt. A guarantee shall be provided against advance in market price and a guarantee shall be provided for reduction in price in the event of a decrease in the market price, and The Southland Company shall post a performance bond in the sum of $2,500.00 guaranteeing specifications and delivery. Terms of payment shall be net on or abour the 10th I of the month following purchase. SECTION 2.
