A RESOLUTION REQUESTING the city manager to advertise for bids
FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NEW COMBINATION BACKHOE AND END LOADER
TO BE USED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND
PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE
MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMIISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested
to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of one (1) new Com-
bination Backhoe and End Loader for use in the Public Works Department,
having the following specifications:
Minimum digging depth 14 feet.
Backhoe boom designed to interchange buckets sizes 1$", 24" and 30"
equipped with digging teeth.
End Loader bucket 18 cu. ft. Capacity 63-3/$" width.
Minimum 48 H.P. Diesel engine, 12 volt electric starting system.
4 injectors Fuel induction - fuel supply injection pump. Diesel cycle
ignition.
Air cleaner oil bath. Full flow type oil filter renewable cartridge.
Positive pressure lubrication.
4 lbs. pressurized cooling system 16z quarts capacity, pump vane
permanent lubrication barring.
44 quarts capacity reservoir built into loader frame with full flow oil
filter, pump mounted on tractor direct drive with gear type coupling
20 GPM @ 2000 RPM.
Heavy duty 11" diameter friction single dry disc ferrometallic clutch.
Sliding spur gear triple -Range transmission.
Braker 6" diameter foot, double disc, individual rear wheel -lock together
for traveling and parking lock.
Hydraulic cylinders for Backhoe and loader double acting chrome plated rods.
Boom (1) 4" 39.'-�", 1-3/4" rod -crowd (1) 41fx3211, 2" Rod.
Bucker (1) 312"x27?11, 1-3/4" Rod -Swing (2) 3"x15-5/$", li"Rods.
Stabilizers (2) 31"x16-3/$", 1-3/4" Rods
End Loader - Lift (2) 2z"x31-7/16", 12" Rods -Bucket (2) 22"x20-11/16",
14 Rods.
Steering Power Assistant. I
Controls Heavy Duty 6 spool valve with individually replacable spools and
bodies provides operation of backhoe boom, crowd, bucket and stabilizer
cylinders. Foot pedals control backhoe swing.
Hydraulic lines to be steel tubing with brazed fittings and wire braid j
high pressure hose with swager fittings.
Tractor to be equipped with all weather cab - 24" and 30" backhoe
buckets with digging teeth. 100 level first line all traction tires
and tubes Front 7.50x16 6 ply. Rear 14.9 x 24 - 6 ply.
Parts catalogue and instruction manual to be delivered with Tractor.

Each Bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for the
purchase of the equipment he offers for sale, and also the amount of such
purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade=in One (1) Case
Combination Backhoe and End Loader purchased new in November 1958.
Each bidder shall submit complete specifications and description
of the equipment he proposes to sell, shall state the length of time
required for delivery after a contract is awarded, and, if requested,
shall exhibit to the City Officials in Paducah equipment similar to that
bid upon by him.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice
posted at the City Hall doer and by inserting notice of the request for
bids in the Sun -Democrat as provided for by law. All bids shall be
sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice
for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up
to the time fixed for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board
of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder,
and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any
and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase
said equipment until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the
execution of a purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
