A RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE MOVING OF A BUILDING OV1NED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY,
LOCATED AT CLEMENTS AND MEYERS STREETS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, directed
to advertise for bids for the moving of a certain building at Clements
and Meyers Street in Paducah, Kentucky, as follows:
a. The building to be moved is approximately 40' x 110? in
size, and is the building used by the Floodwall Department
and Civil Defense Agency of the City and is situated upon
the former U. S. Engineers Depot property.
b. The building is to be moved approximately 155 feet in an
easterly direction and approximately 55 feet in a southerly
direction, and no streets or alleys will be crossed.
c. The City will disconnect all utilities and sewers prior to
the moving of the building.
d. The City will construct and prepare a foundation at the new
location, and the successful bidder is to move the building
and place same on the new foundation.
e. The City will reconnect all utilities and sewers.
f. Each bidder shall state the length of time required for the
moving of the building after a contract is awarded.
g. The successful bidder shall execute a performance bond for
the work in an amount equal to his bid.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting
a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids
in the Sun -Democrat to be published not less than seven (7) days nor more than
twenty-one (21) days before the date fixed in the notice for the opening of
bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour
fixed for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to
the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the
Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder,
and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all
bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the
adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
