A RESOLUTION PERTAINING TO A "COMMUNITY APPRAISAL AND A PROGRAM
FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT", PREPARED BY THE FANTUS COMPANY
WHEREAS on April 10, 1962, a copy of the "Community Appraisal
and Program for Economic Development" prepared for the Mayor's Special
Committee of Paducah by the Fantus Company was received, approved and
filed by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, and
WHEREAS in said report it was recommended that an organization
be formed capable of coordinating all of the diverse programs associated
with the development of Paducah, and suggested that a Paducah Growth
Council be formed, and
WHEREAS on April 2$, 1962, by a motion adopted by the Board of
Commissioners ten (10) names were submitted as members of such Paducah
Growth Council, and
WHEREAS the members of said Council have suggested and recommended
that its name be changed to "Paducah -McCracken Development Council".
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the name of the Committee known as Paducah Growth
Council as recommended by the "Community Appraisal and a Program For
Economic Development" prepared by the Fantus Company, be changed to
Paducah -McCracken Development Council.
SECTION 2, That the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah
pledges its support in aiding the permanent creation of such Paducah -
McCracken Development Council in adopting any necessary legislation
in the future.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
