AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYMENT OF LEE POTTER SMITH AND
ASSOCIATES OF PADUCAH, INC. TO PREPARE PLANS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF
A NEW CITY HALL BUILDING FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SUCH EMPLOYMENT ON BEHALF
OF SAID CITY; AND PROVIDING FOR PAYMENT OF ALL EXPENSES IN CONNECTION
THEREWITH FROM THE PUBLIC WORKS CUMULATIVE RESERVE FUND OF SAID CITY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, employ the services
of Lee Potter Smith & Associates of Paducah, Inc. for the preparation
of plans for the construction of a new city hall for the City of
Paducah, Kentucky.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized
and directed to enter into a contract, for and on behalf of the City
of Paducah, Kentucky, with Lee Potter Smith & Associates of Paducah, Inc.
for the purposes stated in Section 1 hereof, such contract being the
standard form of agreement between Owner and Architect known as the
1961 Edition A.I.A. Document No. B-131, a copy of which form is
attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference; the amount of
compensation to be provided for in said contract to be paid by the
City of Paducah, Kentucky, to said Lee Potter Smith & Associates of
Paducah, Inc. shall be six (ba) percent of the project construction
cost, and for any extra services as defined in said contract and
specifically authorized by the City two (2) times the direct personnel
expense including Principals' time at $10.00 per hour.
SECTION 3. All payments to said Lee Potter Smith & Associates
of Paducah, Inc. for its services covered by the contract shall be
charged to and paid from the Public Works Cumulative Reserve Fund.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file
for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form
in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall
be in full force and effect ten (10) days thereafter.
