A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF ONE (1) PRE -CAST CONCRETE BRIDGE, AND
PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL
BE IIDE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COI9-IISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City ITanager be, and he is hereby,
authorized to advertise for bids for -the purchase of one (1) pre -cast
concrete bridge, having the following specifications:
Pre -cast concrete bridge, 30 foot clear span, consisting
of seven (7) interior sections and two (2) curb sections
with standard guard rails and mountings, with each section
to be three feet wide. Bridge to be furnished and set in
place on existing sub -structures ready for use, and to be as
per drawing G600 of the Kentucky Highway Department, and all
materials used are to meet such department's specifications.
Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for
the sale and installation of said bridge.
SECTION 2. The City I?anager shall advertise for sealed bids
by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of
the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat to be published not less than
seven (7) days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before the date
fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and no bid
shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening
of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed
in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board
of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder,
and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any
and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to any
bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution
of a purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
