"AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ESTABLISHMENT, MAINTENANCE
AND OPERATION OF A MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS
OF AN ACT OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY
ADOPTED AT ITS REGULAR SESSION IN 1940 PROVIDING FOR THE OPERATION
OF MUNICIPAL RECREATIONAL PROJECTS BY CITIES OF THE SECOND CLASS;
PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A COMMISSION TO MANAGE SAID MUNICIPAL
GOLF COURSE, AND FIXING THE QUALIFICATIONS OF SAID COMMISSIONERS,
THEIR TERMS OF OFFICE AND THEIR POUTERS AND DUTIES", WHICH WAS ADOPTED
BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON MARCH 26, 1940
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 1 of an ordinance containing the
title quoted above, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners
on March 26, 1940, be, and the same is hereby amended so that said
Section as amended shall read as follows:
"SECTION 1. That the five tracts or parcels of land heretofore
conveyed to the City of Paducah, the same being more particularly
described in a resolution adopted by the Board of Commissioners on
July 13th, 1939, be, and the same are hereby dedicated for use as a
municipal golf course to be known as The Paxton Park and there is
hereby created a City Recreational Commission to be known as the
Paducah Golf Commission to operate, manage and control said municipal
golf course. The Paducah Golf Commission shall consist of five (5)
members who shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of a
majority of the members of -the Board of Commissioners, and they
shall have the qualifications, powers and duties as prescribed by
the provisions of KRS 97.120. The 'terms of three (3) of such members
shall be for a period of four (4) years from the respective dates of
the expiration of the terms of the present members. The term of the
fourth member of said Commission shall expire on March 26, 1963, and
appointments thereafter shall be for a period of four (4) years.
The term of the fifth member of said Commission shall expire on
March 26, 1965 and appointments thereafter shall be for a period of
four (4) years." II
SECZTON 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
