HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 612, No Ordinance Number6121 1 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYPIENT OF WILLIAMS, WILLIAMS AND LENTZ, CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS, TO MAKE AN AUDIT OF THE ACCOUNTS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH AND ALL CITY OFFICERS FOR THE YEAR 1961 IN CONSIDERATION OF THE PAYi'iIENT TO THEM OF THE SUM OF :03,000.00 WHEREAS, it appearing that the proposal of Williams, Williams and Lentz in the sum of ;)3,000.00 for the preparation of an audit of all accounts of the City of Paducah for the year 1961 is fair and reason- able; and iIHEREAS, the law requires that an audit be prepared annually, such audit of the accounts of all city officers to be made by a qualified public accountant. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C0I5IISSIONER3 OF TIME CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Idilliams, Williams and Lentz, Certified Public Accountants, be, and they are hereby employed to make an audit of the accounts and affairs of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and of all of the accounts of all city officers, for the year 1961 in accordance with their proposal for the price of :;3,000.00, and the City idanager is hereby authorized to enter into and sign a contract with said public accountants for the preparation of said audit. Said contract shall provide for the preparation of an audit in compliance with all of the provisions of MRS 92.405, and said Auditors shall furnish to the City in pamphlet form fifty copies of said audit, one (1) to be published in the official newspaper, and a copy to be available to each voter who may apply for same at the office of the City Manager. Said contract shall also provide for the furnishing to the City eight (8) copies of the transcript of the auditorb•s work sheet, one (1) copy to be furnished to the Mayor, the members of the Board of Commissioners the City Manager and the City Treasurer. SECTIOI? 2. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and said ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days from and after its adoption.
