AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8-B OF THE "APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES?
CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
ON DECEMBER 2, 1947, AND AMENDED ON JANUARY 23, 1961
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 8-B of the "Appointive Employees?
Civil Service Ordinance", which was adopted by the Board of
Bommissioners on December 2, 1947, and amended on January 23, 1961,
be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained so that said
section as amended and reordained shall read as follows:
"SECTION 8-B. There is hereby authorized and created the
following positions in the Public Works Department, heretofore known

as the Street Department, and tPe salaries of each position, provided
the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment
ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows:
Position Salary Per Month
This department shall be under the direction and
supervision of the Director of Public Works and
Assistant Director of Public Works, non -civil
service positions which have heretofore been created
by separate ordinance.
Chief Foreman of Streets & Sewers
(formerly Assistant Superintendent of
streets and sewers) 5405.00
Foremen (3 positions) 335.00
Clerk -typist 240.00
The Clerk -typist shall be paid at the rate of $p200.00 per
month for the first six months; at the expiration of six months
P10.00 per month; at the expiration of another six months 5?220.00
per month; at the expiration of another six months ti;230.00 per month
and at the expiration of another six months ,;240.00 per month; such
increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager,
Hourly Rate
Sewer Maintenance Men (8 positions) ;1.65
Equipment Operator (6 positions) 1.72
Street Repairmen (7 positions) 1.53
Truck Driver (10 positions) 1.47
Laborer (7 positions) 1.40
Laborers shall be paid at the rate of 5?1.321 per hour for the
first six months of their employment arai$1.40 per hour thereafter,
such increases to be made upon recommendation of the City Manager.

This division shall be under the direction of
the above mentioned Director of Public Works
and Assistant Director of Public Works.
(No civil service employees) "
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full forc
from and after its adoption.
