AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
CONTRACT WITH AETNA OIL COMPANY FOR THE PURCHASE OF ALL REGULAR AND
ETHYL GASOLINE, FOR USE BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE
PERIOD OF TIME FROM JULY 1, 1961 TO DECEMBER 31, 1961, AND PRESCRIBING
THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
to enter into a contract, on behalf of the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
with Aetna Oil Company for the purchase of the following supplies
for use by the City from July 1, 1961 to December 31, 1961:
Regular gasoline, octane rating 93, normal tank wagon price
$0.236 per gallon, discount $0.0301 per gallon. Ethyl gasoline,
octane rating 99, $0.271 per gallon, discount $0.0351 per gallon.
In the event a temporary or submornal consumer price is put into
effect and such price is lower than the established price with dis-
count, the lower price will apply.
All products furnished to the City will be paid for on or about
the 10th day of the month following the purchase.
The Company will furnish and install four (4) electrically
operated and metered gasoline pumps, necessary tanks and concrete islands.
All prices quoted above shall be guaranteed against advance in
the market price, and the Company, except as otherwise provided
herein, is to guarantee a corresponding reduction in price in the
event of a decrease of any of the above items.
In the event of fire or other emergency, the Company shall agree
to give twenty-four hour emergency tank truck service to any point
in the city seven days per week.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on
file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed
form in Which it shall be put upon its final passage, and it being
necessary for the public health and safety that the above products be
received as soon as possible, an emergency is now declared and this
ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption.
