A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE PURCHASE OF FIVE (5) NEW 1961 FOUR DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILES
FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS
UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested
to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky
of five (5) new 1961 four -door sedan automobiles, having the follow-
ing specifications:
Standard equipment to be described completely by each bidder;
automatic transmission; heater; black color with white doors;
45 amp generator; successful bidder to install spot light furnished
by the City.
Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for
the purchase of the automobiles he offers for sale, and also the
amount of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in
five (5) 1958 two -door Chevrolets, less any sirens, radios, extrs
batteries and extra generators.
Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model
upon which he bids, and if requested will exhibit at the City Hall
to the City Officials a similar car of the model bid upon with the
equipment offered, and must state the length of time required for
delivery after a contract is awarded.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids
by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice
of the request for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published not less
than seven (7) days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before the
date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and
no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the
opening of same. All fids received by the City Manager up to the
time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with
the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and
best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right
to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally
obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance auth-
orizing the execution of the pufchase contract.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
fron and after its adoption.
