FIXING HOLIDAYS I=? THE CITY OF PADUCAH", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD
OF COMIISSIODrERS ON SEPTEMBER 23, 1952, AND ANONDED ON AUGUST 21, 1953
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C0114ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, T1-NTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That an ordinance containing the title quoted
above, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on September 23,
1952, and amended on August 21, 1953, be further amended so that said
ordinance as amended shall read as follows:
"SECTION 1. That the following days during each calendar
year be designated as holidays on which all city employees, erith the

exception of the police and fire department personnel, will be granted
a holiday:
New Years Day (January 1)
Memorial Day (May 30)
Independence Day (July 4)
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day
and such other holidays as may from time to time be designated by
motion of the Board of Commissioners. If any of the days mentioned
herein as holidays fall on Sunday the next day thereafter shall be
observed as a holiday.
As soon as possible after any holiday, the police and fire
department personnel shall be granted a leave of one (1) day to be
selected by the respective heads of the police department and fire
department".
SECTIO_'? 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
