A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KF :TUCKY, TO E:TCUTE A CITY TRAFFIC CONTROL AGREEMENT ITITH THE
IENTUCKY DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C01,7IISSIONERS OP THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor of the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
be, and he is hereby, authorized to e_tecute, on behalf of said city,
a City Traffic Control Agreement with the Kentucky Department of
Highways in words and figures as follows, to -wit:
"CITY TRAFFIC CONTROL AGREE1.1ENT
FIHEREAS the Departmemt of Highways is engaged in the
construction, reconstruction and maintenance of a system of
state highways and connecting roads within the City of Paducah;
and
WHEREAS in maintaining and operating said system and the
connecting links to promote the free flow of traffic and to
minimize traffic hazards it is necessary that traffic controd
devices such as, but not limited to, vehicle detectors, signs,
islands and pavement markings be located on the public roads
of the City of Paducah in Proximity to the intersection of such
roads with said state system or connecting links thereof as
well as on roads in said city which have been taken over for
State maintenance,
.M-FREAS the location of such devices by the Highway Department is
of mutual advantage to the City of Paducah and to the Kentucky
Department of Highways.
II011 THEREFORE, it is mutually agreed by and between the
Kentucky Department of Highways hereinafter referred to as the
"Department" and. the City of Paducah hereinafter referred to
as the "City";
For and in consideration of the construction, reconstruction
and maintenance of a system of highways within the City and the
regulation of traffic thereon, the City hereby agrees :TIthout
further necessary documentation or anproval to permit the Depart-
ment of Highways, pursuant to its policies and procedures i•.hich
it from time to time may prescribe, to install and maintain
traffic control devices such as, but not limited to, vehicle
detectors, siuns, islands and pavement markings i•..Tithin the
rights of !'lay of any public road or street within the City in

order to regulate the flow of traffic to and from the roads of
the City to and on the roads constructed, reconstructed and
maintained by the Department, and the City further agrees to
pay all costs of the purchase of power for actuating and lighting
installations within the corporate limits of the City and to
maintain such at its sole expense."
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
