A RESOLUTION Ea.PRESSING THE INTEITTIO J OF THE BOARD OF
C01-11ISSIONIERS OF TIS CI'iY OF PADUCAH, 1ENTUCKY, REGARDIAG THE
INSTALLATION OF SANITARY SEVIERS IN CERTAIN PROPERTY N09 IN PROCESS

WHEREAS this Board, on February 24, 1959, adopted an
ordinance incident to the proposed annexation of certain property
adjacent to the City of Paducah, lying between 1-1innich Avenue and
South Central Avenue, commonly referred to as proposed area "B";
and
?9HEREAS certain residents of the area sought to be anne.;ed
have instituted an action in the i,IcCracken Circuit Court (Civil action
number 3461), by which they seek to prevent such annexation; and
HREAS of concern to the consideration of the matter is
the possibility of servin the area to be annexed frith sanitary
sewers; amd
WHEREAS it is considered appropriate to make known the
intention of this 3oard respecting such sewer installation;

OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, 1 ;NTUCY.Y:
SECTIOI! 1. That it is the intention of this Board to
proceed as soon as practicable after the annexation of the afore-
said property with appropriate action in connection with the
installation of sanitary sewers therein.
SECTIOIT 2. Such installation to be on a payment and hook-up
basis similar to that already adopted in other areas recently annexed.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.

FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) NE41 1961 MEDIUM PRICED CLASS FOUR DC
SEDAN AUTOMOBILES FOR USE BY THE POLICE CHIEF AND FIRE CHIEF, Al
PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON `'IHICH SUCH PURCHASE SH'LL BE hIAE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COAfi.iISSIONERS OF THE CITY
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: I,
SECTION 1. That the City manager be, and he is hereby, requested
to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky
of two (2) new 1961 medium priced class four (4) door sedan auto-
mobiles having the following specifications:
Standard equipment to be described completely by each bidder;
automatic transmission; power brakes; power steering; heater, heavy j
duty generator of at least 45 amp capacity; successful bidder to

install spot light furnished by the City. One of said automobiles
to be painted fire chief red and the other to be painted black.
/Each bidder shall state the amount he frill accept in cash for
the purchase price of the automobiles he offers for sale, and also
the amount of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as

trade-in the following automobiles less any sirens, radios, extra
I
batteries and extra generators: One (1) 1950 Chevrolet Carry -all �
i
and one (1) wrecked 1955 Oldsmobile four -door sedan.
Each bidder shall state in his bid the popular name and model
upon which he bids, and if requested will exhibit at the City Hall
to the City Officials a similar car of the model bid upon with the
equipment offered, and must state the length of time required for
delivery after a contract is awarded.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids
by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice
of the request for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published not less
than seven (7) days nor more than twenty-one (21) days before the
date fixed for the opening of bids. All bids shall be sealed and
no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the
opening of same. all bids received by the City Manager up to the
time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with
the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract 'to the lowest and
best bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right
to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally
obligated to any bidder until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing
the execution of the purchase contract.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in .full force and effect .from
and after its adoption.
