"API ORDINANCE RELATING TO AND FURTHER REGULATING THE GRANTING
OF LICENSES FOR SELLING, DISPENSING AND DEALING IN ALCOHOLIC AND
MALT BEVERAGES IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; PRESCRIBING THE
ELIGIBILITY OF APPLICANTS FOR LICENSE; LIMITING THE NUMBER OF
LICENSE.9 TO BE -ISSUED AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS REGULATING
THE NTRJMER; PRESCRIBING THE PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF;
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND REPEALI14G ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT THEREWITH", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COTjg4ISSIOTIERS
ON JANUARY 16, 1951.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF CONR,1ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 2 of an ordinance containing the title
quoted above, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on
January 16, 1951 be, and the.same is hereby amended so that said
section as amended shall read as follows:
"SECTION 2. There shall not be issued for the privilege of sell-
ing in the City of Paducah of spirituous or vinous liquors at retail
by the glass for consumption on the premises more than one such license
for every 2500 of the inhabitants of McCracken County, Kentucky,
according to the enumeration of the population thereof as now estab-
lished by the 1950 census of the United States, or according to such
enumeration of the population as may hereafter be fixed by ordinance
upon the recommendation of the Paducah Association of Commerce.
There shall not be issued for the privilege of distributing
or selling at wholesale malt beverages in the City of Paducah more
than one license for every thirty-six retail malt beverage licenses
issued by the City. This ordinance shall not prohibit the renewal
of present distributor or wholesale malt beverage licenses, but in
the event any such license shall hereafter be revoked, surrendered
or not renewed, no new license shall be issued if the number of
licenses then in effect equal or exceed the number as provided in
this section."
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith qre, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
