A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR
BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF THREE (3) NEW 1961 FOUR DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILES
FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPOPI
WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COP•MISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, IENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah,
Kentucky of three (3) new 1961 four door sedan automobiles, having
the following specifications:
Eight cylinder engines, heater, air cleaner, oil filter,
directional signals, standard first line 4 -ply tires with spare
wheel and tire, automatic transmission, double pulley on generator,
15 -inch wheels, successful bidder to install spot light furnished
by City, colors to be specified by City.
Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash
for the purchase of the automobiles he offers for sale, and also
the amount of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as
trade-in the following automobiles less sirens, radios, extra
batteries and extra generators:
Car #4 Model 1241 Ser. #B58S 220731 1958 Chev.
Car #5 Model 1241 Ser. 7B58S 220752 1958 Chev.
Car 8 Model KJ Mtr, jfKAA 325505 1952 Chev.
Each bidder shall make separate bids for a cash purchase price
and for a price accepting the above automobiles as trade-in.
Each bidder must state in his bid the popular name and model
upon which he bids, and if requested to exhibit at the City Hall to the
City Officials a similar car of the model bid upon with equipment
offered. Each bidder must state the length of time required for
delivery after a contract is awarded.
SECTIOAI 2. The Ciyy Manager shall advertise for bids by a
notice posted at the city hall door and by inserting notice of the
request for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published once a week for
three consecutive weeks. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall
be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same.
All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the
notice .for the openinZ of same shall be filed with the Board of
Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and 'best bidder,
and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject

any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated
to purchase said vehicles until the adoption of an ordinance
authorizing the execution of a purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
