A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR
FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NEW VACUUM LEAF AND LITTER COLLEC4
FOR USE IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORICS, AND PRESCRIBING TILE
CONDITIONS UPON i9HICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the sale to the
City of one (1) new vacuum leaf and litter collector having the
following specifications:
30 H.P. - L; cylinder industrial I-asoline engine equipped with an
electric starter, governor, generator, stelite valves, automatic
over heat cut off switch, battery; power to be transmitted to the
suction impeller through a matched set of reinforced cog -type belts;
the power transmission to be controlled by a quick -acting clutch;
stainless steel clad suction housing; heavy duty fan; stainless steel
clad discharge duct; swinging hose support boom; 12 inch diameter
discharge hose; drop box; to be mounted on two (2) wheeled trailer;
consists of a welded steel frame semi -elliptic springs, with a torr
ring type hitch, safety chains, screw type parking jack, full sniveling
caston wheel, stop and tail lights, hub caps; first line 100 level
tires with tubes - 670 r. 15 - 4 ply; colors and lettering to be
specified. Each bidder shall state the length of time required .for
delivery after a purchase contract is awarded and shall give full
information as to guarantees.
SECTIOII 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice
posted at the City IIall door and by inserting notice of the request
for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published once a week for three
consecutive weeks. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be
received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same.
All bids received up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening
of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a
contract to the lowest and best bidder. The Board reserves the right
to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become obligated
to purchase such equipment until the adoption of an ordinance
authorizing the execution of a purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolutiom shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
