AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING TIME BID OF PHILLIP DO-01DY FOR THE
SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF j`7, 7=$, r9 AND #11 LIMESTONE,
ICkITUCKY STATE HIGH111AY SPECIFICATIONS, FOR USE BY THE CITY DURING
1959, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AND EXECUTE
A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SA?U,;, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND
CONDITIONS UNDER JHICH SAID PURCHASES SHALL BE MADE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COP-94ISSIOVERS OF TIE CITY OF
PADUCAH, ITNTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the bid of Phillip Dowdy for the sale to
the City of Paducah of 7-r"7, ;;I$, ir9 and 7�11 Limestone, Kentucky
State Highway Specifications, required by the City during the
year 1959 (approximately 2500 to 4000 tons, be accepted, and that
the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to enter into
and execute a contract for the purchase, upon the order of the City,
of all such #7, T$, u9 and «11 limestone to be used during the year
1959, such contract to provide for the price of "2.15 per ton. The
limestone to be delivered to any destination in the city limits of
the city as ordered, by collect telephone call, by the Dirgetor of
Public Works in one hundred ton lots or more and delivery to begin
within twenty-four hours after notification and continue until the
required amount has been delivered. All freights of delivered lime-
stone must be certified at some accurate scale at or near the City of
Paducah at the expanse of the Seller. The Seller shall furnish
representative samples of the limestone at the request of the Director
of Public Works. The Seller shall guarantee against advance in the
market price and guarantee reduction in the event of a decrease in
the market price. The Seller shall post a performance bond in the
sum of •,21,500.00 guaranteeing specifications and delivery.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular
meeting of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for at least
one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it
shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full
force and effect .ten (10) days thereafter.
