AN ORDINANCE CREATING A CIVIC BEAUTIFICATIO11 BOARD FOR
THE CITY OF PADUCAII, I{ENTUCI Y, PRESCRIBING THE 1.1EII-iBERSHIP, TERI.-S
OF OFFICE AND DUTIES OF SAID BOARD
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COI,IIVIISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, IO;PITUCKY:
Ir. SECTION 1. There is hereby created and established a
Civic Beautification Board of the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
j(1 consisting of eighteen (18) members who shall be of legal age and
residents of McCracken County, Kentucky. The members shall be
appointed by the •Iayor subject to the approval of the Board of
Commissioners of the City. The terms of all members shall be for
a term of one (1) year, and all members shall serve without
compensation.
SECTION 2. The duty of said Civic Beautification Board
shall be to study, investigate and recommend plans for improving
the health, sanitation, safety and cleanliness of the City of Paducah;
of beautifying the streets, highways, alleys, lots, yards and other
places in the City; to aid in the prevention of fires, diseases
and other casualties by recommending the removal and elimination
of trash and other debris from the streets, highways, alleys, lots
yards and other places; to encourage the placing, planting and/or
preservation of trees, flowers, plants, shrubbery and other objects
of ornamentation in said city; protect song birds and other wild life;
advise with abd recommend plans to other agencies of the city for
the beautification of said city and otherwise promote public interest
in the general improvement of the appeabance of said city.
SECTION 3. The Civic Beautification Board shall not incur
any indebtedness to be paid by the City of Paducah, and the City shall
not be responsible for any debts incurred by said Board.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
