A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY PANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR
BIDS .FOR FIVE (5) PTEW FEDERAL THUNDERBOLT I1ODEL 1000 SIRENS AND
CERTAIN ASSOCIATED EQUIPA'ENT FOR USE BY THE PADUCAH CIVIL DEFENSE
ALERTING SYSTEM, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON t•JITICH SUCH
PURCHASE SIALL BE KADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COP17ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, }-ENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the sale to the
City of five ( 5 ) herr Federal Thunderbolt Model 1000 Sirens having
the following specifications and with the following equipment:
220 Volt, 60 cycle, 3 phase to meet OCDDI specifications 17103
Size B, Type 111 (completely component type siren). To be of the
Dual Tone type. 125 D.B. Rating. 5 control panels for above.
5 weather-proof telephone relays. 1 rectifier -trickle charger -
to supply 4$ volt DC to the telephone lines, or as may be specified
by the Telephone Company.
Each bidder is to state the amount he will accept in cash
for the purchase price of such equipment, and also the amount of
such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in of
4 - 71 HP Federal Sirens. 220 volt single phase 60 cycle. Two are
in working condition, two are in need of repair. 4 - control panels.
3 - Air Raid Trimers.
Each bidder shall state the length of time required for
delivery after a purchase contract is awarded, and shall furnish
full information as to guarantee.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a
notice posted at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the
request for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published once a week
for three (3) consecutive weeks. All bids shall be sealed and no bid
shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening
of same. All bids received up to the time fixed in the notice for
the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners
who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder. The Board
reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and the City shall not
become obligated to purchase said equipment until the adoption of
an'ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
