A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY I-1ANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR
BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SANITARY SE':IERS IN THE FAIRMONT
ADDITION, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERI•?S AND MANNER IN WHICH SAID BIDS
SHALL BE RECEIVED
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COPU4ISSIONER3 OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City i-Ianager be, and he is hereby,
authorized to advertise for bids for the construction of sanitary
sewers in the Fairmont Addition, as follows:
The work to be performed constite of 121i-1011 and 811 extra
strength V.C.P. gravity flow sanitary sewers with attendant 611 V.C.P.
extra strength house service lines, all briefly described as follows:
Approximately 3931 - 1211 Extra Strength V.C.P. and 611 house
service lines on Division Street, from Goodman Street to Fairmont
Street; approximately 1758, _ 811 Extra Strength V.C.P. and 6f1 house
service lines on Goodman Street from Division Street to Thirtieth
Street; approximately 515.04 0 1091 Extra Strength V.C.P. and 12501
of 811 Extra Strength V.C.P. with attendant 611 house service lines
on Fairmont Street from Division Street to Thirtieth Street;
approximately 4064 - of 10P1 Extra Strength V.C.P. and 611 house
service lines on Twenty-seventh Street from Fairmont Street to
Bradley Street; approximately 11224 - 81' Extra Strength V.C.P. and
611 house service lines on Bradley Street from Twenty-seventh Street
to Thirtieth Street.
Copies of the plans, specifications and other proposed contract
documents are on file at the office of the City Engineer, Paducah,
Kentucky. Contractors desiring plans and specifications for use in
preparing bids may obtain a set of such documents from the City
Engineer at the address stipulated above upon deposit of ;110.00.
The full amount of the deposit will be refunded to each bidder who
has made such deposit and who has filed his bid wi-hh the Owner as
directed in this notice and upon the forms as prescribed, upon the
return of all documents not filed with his bid.
A cashierls check, certified check, or acceptable bidderts
bond, payable to the Owner in an amount not less than 5 per cent
of the total for the bid submitted, must accompany each bid as a
guarantee that, if awarded the contract, the bidder will promptly
enter into a contract and execute such bonds as may be required.
Each bidder to whom a contract is awarded will be required to
furnish a performance bond acceptable 'to the City in -the amount of
100 per cent of the contract, in Eonformity with the requirements
of the proposed contract documents.

The right is reserved by the City to reject any or all bids
and to waive informalities therein. No bidder may withdraw his
bid for a period of 30 days after the time set for receipt of
bids.
SECTION 2. The City i7anager shall advertise for sealed bids
by posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice
of the request for bids in at least three (3) issues of the Sun
Democrat to be published once a week for three (3) consecutive
weeks. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received
after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same.
All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in
the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board
of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best
bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right
to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally
obligated to award a contract until the adoption of an ordinance
authorizing the execution of a contract.
SECTION 3. This Resblution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
