API ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THE ELECTRIC PLANT BOARD OF THE
CITY OF PADUCAH AS THE AGENT AND REPRESENTATIVE OF SAID CITY FOR
THE PURPOSE OF NEGOTIATING 1.1ITH THE KENTUCKY UTILITIES COP&ANY AS
TO THE VALUE OF ITS ELECTRIC SYSTEM WITHIN THE CITY; ALL OF SAID
BOARD'S ACTIONS THEREIN TO BE SUBJECT TO RATIFICATION BY THE
LEGISLATIVE BODY OF SAID CITY TO THE EXTENT REQUIRED BY LAW
1'1HEREAS, on February 24, 1959 the Board of Commissioners
of the City of Paducah, adopted an ordinance declaring and
setting forth the desire of the City to enter into an agree-
ment with Kentucky Utilities Company as to the value of the
Company's electric system within said city; authorizing and
directing the Mayor of said city to give notice in writing
to said Company of such desire; and requesting the Electric
Plant Board of the City to take appropriate steps to acquire
the existing electric system of said Company under the pro-
visions of the franchise granted it on September 17, 1940.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C0I,21ISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Electric Plant Board of the City of Paducah
is hereby designated the agent and representative of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky for the purpose of negotiating with Kentucky
Utilities Company as to the value of its electric system within
the city; all of said Board's actions therein to be subject to
ratification by the legislative body of said city to the extent
required by law.
SECTION 2, This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption,
