A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF WILEY & LACIEY FOR SEWER
CONSTRUCTION IN BELLEI•IEADE SUBDIVISION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COP,11ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accept the terms and
conditions in a written proposal of Wiley & Lackey for sewer con-
struction in Bellemeade Subdivision, which proposal is in words
and figures as follows:
"May 23, 1960
"Honorable P•Iayor and Commissioners
Paducah, Kentucky
Gentlemen:
"Pursuant to our recent discussion about sewer
construction in Bellemeade Subdivision, we make the
following offer:
"We propose, at our expense, to have the Engineering
Firm of Hollis & Griggs, Inc. to prepare plans and
specifications for the construction of a 10" Sanitary
Sewer line and proper laterals on the Kennedy Road;
a lift station adjoining Blandville Road to serve said
10" line through a 4" force main from the lift station
to the present sewer at or near the city limit on the
Blandville Road.
"Such plans and specifications are to be approved
by the Engineering Firm of Burns & ?McDonnell and approved
by Kentucky Water Pollution Commission. After such
plans and specifications have been so approved, we re-
quest that you advertise in the name of the city for
bids for the construction of the project according
to such plans and specifications and let the project
on contract to the lowest and best bidder.
"After the contract price for the construction
of the project, including all material, labor and
permits, has been ascertained, we request you to
place in a special construction account the sum of
:202000.00 from your present Sewer Service and Con-
struction Fund Account, and the difference between the
construction bid price and 5120,000.00 will be placed in
such account by us; such funds so placed to be used for
the payment of the contract price, according to terms
and specifications, by checks executed by the City
ilanager and City Treasurer.

"We will employ at our expense the Engineering Firm
of Hollis & Griggs, Inc, to inspect all material used
by the successful contractor and all work and installa-
tion made by him in order that the project will be
constructed according to the plans and specifications.
"It is contemplated that the connection charge to
each residence will be ?600.00, and we agree that all
such connection charges will be paid to the City until
you have collected the sum of $25,000.00; after which
the connection charges will be paid to us.
".9e will furnish, at no expense to the City, any
easements required for the sewer lines and lift station.
"After construction and acceptance of the project
the entire system is to become the property of the City
of Paducah.

SECTION 2. After the plans and specifications for such
construction as set out in Section 1 hereof have been accepted
and approved by the Engineering Firm of Burns & McDonnell and
Kentucky Water Pollution Commission, the City Manager is hereby
instructed to take proper steps to cause said project to be
advertised for construction bids.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
