All ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF REED CRUSHED STONE CONPARY,
INC. FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF No. 7, NO. 8, 140. 9 AND NO. 11
LIMESTONE, KENTUCKY STATE HIGHbIAY SPECIFICATIONS, FOR USE BY THE
CITY DURING 1960, ARID AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
AND EXECUTE A COIITRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAME; AND PRESCRIBING
THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER PIHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the bid of Reed Crushed Stone Company, Inc.
for the sale to the City of No. 7, No. 8, No. 9 and No. 11 limestone,
Kentucky State Highway Specifications, required by the City during
the year 1960 (approximately 5000 to 8000 tons) be accepted, and
that the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to enter
into and execute a contract for the purchase, upon the order of
the City, of all such limestone to be used during the year 1960,
such contract to provide for the price of 52.15 per ton. The
limestone is to be delivered to any destination in the city limits
of the city as ordered, by collect telephone call by the Director
of Public ,'forks, in one hundred ton lots or more, and delivery
to begin within twenty-four (24) hours after notification and
continue until the required amount has been delivered. All weights
of delivered limestone must be certified at some accurate scales
at or near the City of Paducah at the expense of the Seller. The
Seller shall furnish representative samples of the limestone at the
request of the Director of Public Works. The Seller shall guarantee
against advance in the market price, and guarantee reduction in the
event of a decrease in the market price. The Seller shall post a
performance bond in the sum of ?11,500.00 guaranteeing specifications
and delivery.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be introduced at a Regular
Meeting of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for at
least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in
which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall
be in full force and effect ten (10) days thereafter.
