HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 223, No Resolution Number223 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR SEALED BIDS FOR THE SALE OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES OWNED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is requested and directed to advertise for sealed bids for the sale of the following properties owned by the City: TRACT l: A vacant lot on the East side of North Fourth Street fronting 70.5 feet and running back eastwardly 163.25 feet; said lot being situated 55 feet south of Clay Street and the same property conveyed to the City by Deed of record in Deed Book 126, page 2, McCracken County Court Clerkts Office. TRACT n 2: A vacant lot at the southwest corner of 16th Street and Kentucky Avenue fronting 158.86 feet on the south side of Kentucky Avenue and extending back southwardly 173.25 feet and being the same property conveyed to the City by deed of record in Deed Book 3$$, page 545 in the McCracken County Court Clerktd Office. TRACT n 3: A lot and improvements thereon situated at the Norhtwest corner of 16th Street and Washington Street fronting 72 feet on the north side of I11ashington and extending back northwardly 160 feet; known as 1635 Washington Street and being the same property conveyed to the City by deed of record in Deed Book 387, page 104 in the McCracken County Court Clerk's Office. TRACT ii 4: A lot and improvements thereon fronting 46 feet on the north side of Washington Street and extending back Northerly 160 feet; being 110.93 feet west of 16th Street and known as 1639 Washington Street. Being the same property conveyed to the City by Deed of record in Deed Book 383, page 235. SECTION 2. Each bidder is to state the amount of cash he is willing to pay for any of said tracts and shall enclose with his bid a certified check or bank draft in an amount equal to 100 of his bid. The deposit so made will be returned to all unsuccessful bidders and the deposits made by successful bidders shall be retained by the City to apply on the purchase price and if the balance of the purchase price is not paid by the successful bidder, such deposits are to be retained by the City. SECTION 3. Any of such properties sold by the City shall be conveyed by deed properly executed by the City containing only such warranty as to title as is allowed by law and subject to any state of facts that might be shown by an accurate survey. SECTION 4. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by notice posted at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun -Democrat to be published once a week for three consecutive 224 weeks. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may authorize sale and conveyance to the highest bidders. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to sell any of said properties until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing said sale. SECTION 5. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after i$s adoption. Vic . Mayor Passed by tje Board of Commissioners March 22, 19 60.
