HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 14, Page 191, No Resolution Number191 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF OIJE (1) NEU 1960 3/4 -TON PICK-UP TRUCK FOR USE IN THE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CON_ DITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the sale 'to the city of one (1) new 1960 3/4 -ton pick-up truck for use in the Iā€¢Iaintenance Department, having the following specifications: Cab, chassis and flat bed; six cylinder preferred; oil bath air cleaner; purolator cartridge type oil filter, heater, overload springs; equipped with turning signals, equipped with two (2) side mirrors; five 6 -ply tires with tubes firstline; colors orange and black to be applied as directed by the City. Each bidder is to state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase price of such truck, and also the amount of such purchase price to bo allowed by accepting as trade-in of one (1) 1941 model Chevrolet 1/2 -ton flat bed truck, Motor No. AD81346, Model No. AK. Each bidder, if requested by the City, shall have available for inspection a truck similar to the one bid upon, and each bidder shall state the length of time required for delivery after a purchase contract is awarded. SECTION 2. The City Planager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published once a week for three consecutive weeks. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder and said board shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City of Paducah shall not become obligated to purchase said truck until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract. SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
