FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE NEW 1960 STANDARD 4 DOOR SEDAN AUTObOBILE FOR
USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON
WHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, IENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized
to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah, Kentucky
of one (1) new 1960 standard 4 door sedan automobile having an eight
cylinder engine to be used in the Police Department of the City.
Said automobile is to be equipped with an alternator or generator
with an approximate capacoty of 105 amperes and the automobile and
alternator or generator are to be equipped with proper pullies necessary
for proper operation; installation of the alternator or generator and
pullies to be supervised by the City. The automobile will be furnished
with a deluxe heater; oil bath; air cleaner purilator; directional
signals; arm rest on each door; two sun visors above windshield; two
windshield wipers; upholstery to be entirely plastic material; standard
first line 4 ply tires and tubes with spare wheel and tire and tube
attached, all wheels to be 15 inches in diameter; and automatic trans-
mission (water d.00led). A spotlight will be furnished by the City, but
installation will be required by the successful bidder. Colors of
said automobile are to be specified by the City.
Each bidder shall state the amount he will accept in cash for
the purchase of the automobile he offers for sale, and also the amount
of such purchase price to be allowed by accepting as trade-in the
following automobile less siren, radio, extra battery and extra generator,
1957 Chevrolet 4 door - Motor Number VB57S247074
Each bidder shall make separate bids for a cash purchase price
and for a price accepting the above automobile as a trade-in.
Each bidder must state in his bid the popular name and model
upon which he bids and if requested, -to exhibit at the City Hall to
the City officials a similar car of the model bid upon with equipment
offered, if available.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager shall advertise for bids by a
notice posted at the pity Hall door and by inserting notice of the re-
quest for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published once a week for three
consecutive weeks. All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be
received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same.

All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the
notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board of
Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best bidder,
and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and
all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase
• said equipment until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the
execution of a purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
