AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9 OF THE "APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEESt
CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OFCOMMISSIONERS
ON DECEMBER 2, 1947, AND AMENDED ON SEPTEMBER 22, 1959
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 9 of the "Appointive Employees,
Civil Service Ordinance", which was adopted by the Board of
Xommissioners on December 2, 1947, and amended on September 22,
1959 be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained so that
said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows:
"SECTION 9. There is hereby authorized and created the'+,

g positions not assigned to any department of the City of
Paducah, but directly under the supervision of the City Manager, and
the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is
not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted
shall be as follows:

Secretary to City Manager and Mayor
Social Worker
Maintenance
Chief of Maintenance Division
Maintenance Men (2 positions)
Maintenance Helper (2 positions)
Inspections
Building & Electrical Inspector
Monthly Salary

Clerk -typist 230.00
The Secretary to the Mayor and City Manager shall be paid at
the rate of $240.00 per month for the first six months of employment;
$250.00 per month for the next twelve months of employment and $260.o0
per month thereafter. Such increases to be made upon recommendation of
the City Manager.
Clerk -typist under this section shall be paid at the rate
of $200.00 per month for the first six months of employment, $210.00
per month for the next six months, $220.00 per month for the next
six months and $230.00 per month thereafter upon recommendation of
the city Manager.
The Building & Electrical Inspector shall perform the duties
formerly performed by the Building Inspector and the Electrical
Inspector, and said Building & Electrical Inspector shall be
under the direct supervision of the City Manager.',

SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be retroactively effective
as of October 1, 1959.
