AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED:
"AN ORDI`?ANCE ESTABLISHING THE NUMBER, RANKS AND I40NTHLY SALARIES OF
THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HERMIJITH", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY TIIE BOARD OF COM ISSIONERS ON AUGUST
5, 1952, AND AMENDED ON OCTOBER 26, 1957
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF Coiz-;ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 1 of an ordinance containing the
title quoted above, which was adopted on August 5, 1952, and amended
on October 26, 1957, be, and the same is hereby amended and reordained
so that said Section as amended and reordained shall read as follows:
,',SECTION 1. That the number and rank of members of the Police
Department of the City of Paducah and their monthly salaries, pro-
vided said salaries are not changed by any annual apportionment
ordinance adopted hereafter, shall be as follows:

Director of Traffic 1 335.00
Police Captain 4 325.00
Detective Lieutenant 1 310.00

Sergeant Detective 2 297.00
Policemen e;0 290.00
Provided, however, that any policeman hereafter appointed, during
his first year of service shall receive a salary of ,1270.00 per month
and upon completion of a year of satisfactory service as determined by
the City 14anager on recommendation of the Police Chief, his monthly
salary shall be increased to •1280.00 for the second year of service,
and upon completion of a second year of satisfactory service as
determined by the City ij",anager on recommendation of the Police Chief,
his monthly salary shall be increased to the sum of ;?290.00."
SECTICII 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTIOi1 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after Ortober 1, 1959.
