AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 7, 7-A, 8-A, 8-B, 8-C, 8=D AND
9, OF THE "APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES? CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE", 11711ICH '•IAS
ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMPIISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 2, 1947, AND AMENDED
ON MARCH 16, 1957, OCTOBER 26, 1957, NOVEMBER 5, 1958, NOVEMBER 25,
1958, February 10, 1959 AND JUNE $,'1959
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C01494ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Sections 7, 7-A, 8-A, 8-B, 8-C, 8-D and 9
of the "Appointive Employees} Civil Seririce Ordinance", which
was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on December 2, 19473
and amended on March 16, 1957, October 26, 1957, November 5, 1958,
November 25, 1958, February 10, 1959 and June 8, 1959 be, and the same
are hereby amended and reordained so that said sections as amended and
ti reordained shall read as follows:
"SECTION 7. There is hereby created and authorized the following
positions in the Department of Finance; and the salary of each position,
provided the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportion-
ment ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as follows:

positions in the Office of the City Assessor, which office was formerly

the amount of such salary is not changed under any apportionment
ordinance hereafter adopted, shall be as follows:

each position, provided the amount of such salary is not changed
under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted shall be as

The Floodwall Superintendent shall be paid at the rate of ,445.00

The Floodwall Foreman shall be paid at the rate of •,025.00 per
month for the first six months of employment and, upon recommendation �I
of the City Manager, at the expiration of such six month period, such

The Floodwall Maintenance Men shall be paid at the rate of

Sub -Section 2. There is hereby authorized and created the i;
following positions in the Sewage Disposal Department, and the
salary of each position, Provided the amount of such salary is
not changed under any apportionment ordinance, hereafter adopted,
shall be as follows:

The Chief Operator shall be paid at the rate of }325,00 _per month
for the first six months of employment, and at the e-;piration of such
period, upon recommendation of the City Pianager, the salary shall be
raised to D35.00 per month.
The I•Iaintenance Man shall be paid at the rate of .;6310,00 per
month for the first six months of employment, and at the e•;piration
of such period, upon recommendation of the '•City rlanager, the salary
shall be raised to ,?320.00 per month. '
The Operators shall be paid at the rate of .1270.00 per month
for the first six months of employment; at the expiration of six
months, ?280.00 per month; and at the expiration of another six
months •,"1290.00 per month, such increases to be made upon recommendation
of the City I Tanager.

The Sewage Disposal Department shall be under the management
and control of the Floodwall Superintendent, and the employees of
the Floodwall Department, at his direction, may be assigned to work
in the Sewage Disposal Department, and the employees of the
Sewage Disposal Department, at his direction, may be assigned
to work in the Floodwall Department, but any of such employees
so assigned shall keep and maintain their civil service rights
under the department to which they were originally assigned.
"SECTION 9. There is hereby authorized and created the
following positions not assigned to any department of the City of
Paducah, but directly under the supervision of the City Manager, and
the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is
not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted
shall be as follows:

The Secretary to the Mayor and City Manager shall be paid at
the rate of �'e240.00 ner month for the first six months of employment;
;250.00 per month for the next twelvemonths of employment and s?260.00
per month thereafter. Such increases to be made upon recommendation of
the City Tanager.
Clerk -typist under this section shall be paid at the rate
of 200.00 per month for the first six months of employment, •.;:210.00
per month for the next six months and :220.00 per month thereafter
upon recommendation of -the City Manager.
The Building & Electrical Inspector shall perform the duties
formerly performed by the Building Inspector and the Electrical
Inspector, and said Building L Electrical Inspector shall be
under the direct supervision or the City Manager."
SECTIOI? 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict

herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full .force and effect
on and after October 1, 1959.
